Frequently Asked Questions...

About Security Systems in General...

Who really NEEDS a security system? What kinds of businesses gain the most benefit from these systems?

Perhaps the better question to ask is, “Who DOESN’T need a security system?” That would be much easier to answer.
. . . In our experience, virtually any business who has concerns about security, shoplifting, employee theft, physical plant management, etc., is a candidate for security systems. As you can see from our both our Partial Client List and from several of our Testimonials, some of the more popular industries we serve are Auto Dealerships, Manufacturing Plants, and Schools, Colleges and Universities.
. . . The best advice we can offer is, simply call or email us, asking if your business can benefit from a Security System. No Obligation, of course. It would be our pleasure to speak with you and answer your questions.

How do I know what a fair price is for a quality security system?

Here you have any number of choices. Perhaps the most obvious is to call around and start gathering quotes from multiple suppliers. Or, if you happen to be on good terms with others in your industry whose operations are similar to yours, call to ask if they have a security system in place, and what their investment might have been... presuming it’s a fairly recent installation.
. . . The main cautions here relate to Two Issues: One, the word FAIR (as in fair price). the Second, and actually more important, is the statement QUALITY SECURITY SYSTEM. You see, you can get price after price for a system. But what we’ve found to be more important is determining the extent of your need, and then developing the best system that will properly fulfill that need, at a price that is fair for you and reasonable for us.
. . . One other factor to consider is, “What’s the history of the company from whom you’re looking to make a purchase?” As you can see as you check through this site, we have both the references and the staying power to help build your trust in us. We’ll be there for you, tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that....

About Digital v. Analog (Tape) Systems...

Why should I consider upgrading to a DIGITAL Recording System? My current Analog Videotape System still works just fine.

Why would you choose to buy a newer car, even though your old one is running fine? It really boils down to gaining more features and more efficiency.
. . . The newer Digital Video Recording Systems (DVR) feature recording not to videotape bu to RAID -- that is, large capacity hard disk drives. Data storage becomes far more economical this way.
. . . Another very significant feature of DVR is the ability to rapidly scan to precise points in the recordings much more quickly than when using videotape.
. . . Then there’s the ability for the new recoding units to handle pretty much an unlimited number of video inputs, from as many as 24 cameras -- or more, if necessary, by simply adding multiple recording devices.
. . . The list literally goes on and on. The easiest way to help you understand what a DVR can do for you is to CLICK HERE for detailed information. Or if you would feel more comfortable, simply call us (or email us here) at 708-339-4900. We’ll spell out in detail how upgrading to a Digital Recording System will pay for itself in short order; and then keep paying for itself, over and over.

About the License $aver Plus® System...

Am I in trouble if I check the ID and serve the customer,
but the ID turns out to be false?

This is one of the more common questions retail liquor employees ask. The short answer is, it depends. Some of the more relevant paragraphs of the Illinois state law put it this way:

"No licensee nor any employee of such licensee shall sell, give or deliver alcoholic liquor to any person under the age of 21 years....

"For the purpose of preventing the violation of this section, any licensee, or his agent or employee, may refuse to sell or serve alcoholic beverages to any person who is unable to produce adequate written evidence of identity and of the fact that he or she is over the age of 21 years.

"Adequate written evidence of age and identity of the person is a document issued by a federal, state, county, or municipal government, including, but not limited to, a motor vehicle operator's license... or an identification card issued to a member of the Armed Forces. Proof that the defendant-licensee, or his employee or agent, demanded, was shown and reasonably relied upon such written evidence in any transaction forbidden by this Section is an affirmative defense in any criminal prosecution therefor or to any proceedings for the suspension or revocation of any license based thereon. It shall not, however, be an affirmative defense if the agent or employee accepted the written evidence knowing it to be false or fraudulent.

"However, no agent or employee of the licensee shall be disciplined or discharged for selling or furnishing liquor to a person under 21 years of age if the agent or employee demanded and was shown, before furnishing liquor to a person under 21 years of age, adequate written evidence of age and identity of the person...."
